Student leaders

Here at Barrett, students demonstrate leadership in many ways. Whether in the classroom, research labs, mentoring and tutoring other students, or securing leadership roles across ASU and in more than 1000 student organizations, chapters, and societies, the sky's the limit for Barrett leadership opportunities. Here are some great opportunities to grow as a leader within the Barrett community.

Mentors

The Barrett Mentoring Program (BMP) is an equitable, inclusive, and relationship-centered mentoring program that creates more connections for students and adds an additional layer of support for first-year students. Each year, Barrett selects upper division students to be Barrett Peer Mentors. Barrett Peer Mentors are paired with a small group of first-year Barrett students and communicate with their mentees on a regular basis and host monthly events.

Residential student leaders

Community Assistants (CAs) are upper-division students who serve as resources for the students within the residence halls. CAs serve as an important resource for honors students living on campus by ensuring the safety of the residents, performing many of the necessary administrative duties in the residence halls, and fostering an engaging living and learning environment through various events and programs.

Peer Academic Leaders

Peer Academic Leaders (PALs) are upper division Barrett students who connect first- and second-year students to their academic college experience. PALS promote community through creating and offering connection events; creating and distributing weekly newsletters; and promoting Barrett and academic college initiatives.
