Honors Lecture Series

Initially implemented in 2004, the Honors Lecture Series brings a very wide range of intellectually stimulating scholarly work and issues to Barrett students and the ASU community. The Honors Lecture Series highlights both the great faculty at ASU and scholars of all fields from across the nation.

The purpose of the Honors Lecture Series is:

  • Enlightenment
  • Exposure to a plethora of specialty topics
  • Interaction with researchers on current contemporary themes
  • Enhancement of the honors experience

Drescher Lecture

The Sol and Esther Drescher Endowed Development Fund was established by Susan Drescher-Mulzet and Mark Mulzet, and sponsors research opportunities for Barrett Honors College Faculty Fellows.

Flinn Foundation Centennial Lecture

In 1985, the Flinn Foundation established an endowment to commemorate the University’s 100th year. The gift created the ASU Centennial Lecture, and in 1989 it provided Barrett Honors College the resources to bring some of the world’s most influential intellects to campus.

In its 30-year history, the Centennial Lecture has become one of ASU’s premiere intellectual events featuring noted diplomats, scientists, playwrights, and authors. Each of the women and men chosen as the Centennial Lecturer has added significantly to the strength of the University, and each has provided students and members of the community with a memorable experience.
