HonorHealth is committed to high-quality learning programs and pursing innovative teaching models to advance medical education in Arizona. HonorHealth strives to be an academic center for excellence through world-class patient care, quality and safety, teaching and research. Since 2022, the HonorHealth Student Scholar Program has provided a robust platform for Barrett students at ASU students to engage in scholarly pursuits and empower student scholars through impactful research opportunities.
HonorHealth Student Research areas include:

- Analyzing High-Need, Under-Represented Populations to Guide Health Policy -Dr. Priya Radhakrishnan (Social determinants of health and health equity)
- Network glucose steering committee on creating nursing education and quality initiatives around improving diabetes care – Dr. Dana Sall (Academic medicine administration)
- Exploring the role of telehealth in providing equitable healthcare to the vulnerable patient population during COVID-19 – Dr. Rustan Sharer (Quality improvement )
- Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ICARE for JEDI – Incorporating JEDI) with the creation of toolkits- Dr. Alethea Turner (Diversity, equity, & inclusion)
