Thesis

Students who have a required capstone project in their major may use the project as the foundation for the honors thesis.  Related projects or research can be developed for a thesis. All thesis projects are supervised by an ASU faculty member and have a second committee member who is faculty, non-faculty, or a qualified professional in the field.

Academic Preparation

Students should start work on honors projects, internships, research, and connecting with faculty early in their academic careers. This will help them engage in the major and start to formulate thesis ideas.

Recommended Timeline

Students should participate in a thesis workshop to learn about the process and how to prepare for their project. We also recommend that all students regularly attend thesis defense presentations and review the thesis digital library of completed projects.

Other Honors Opportunities

Barrett students are encouraged to participate in the annual CISA Student Showcase to share their research work with the community. There are also comprehensive career planning resources for CISA Barrett students and peer support programs.
