Opened in 2009, the $140 million Barrett residential complex on the Tempe campus stands alone among honors colleges for its size and comprehensiveness of services. Amenities designed in part by honors students and administrators include residential space for 1700 students, a signature refectory and contemporary dining center, classrooms, café, amphitheater, labs, faculty and administrative offices, and a sustainable living and learning community with an organic garden and activity space.
Barrett Honors College is a four-year residential community. Barrett Tempe first-year students live within the Barrett Complex in Agave, Cereus, Sustainability House at Barrett (SHAB) located in Sage South and Sage North, Juniper, Rosewood, and Cottonwood buildings. There are several room types available including shared room/shared bath, private room/private bath, quads, or private room/shared bath living options.
