Barrett West Valley campus
Community honors: small campus, big ideas
I warmly welcome you to Barrett Honors College at the Arizona State University West Valley campus!
Our mission is to meet you where you are and help you build towards your goals and aspirations. The Barrett West faculty and staff strive to get to know each of our students, and respond with energy, encouragement, time, and resources to help with every step of the journey at ASU. We offer many social events throughout the academic year to help you unwind and find your community.
The Barrett West Suite is in the University Center Building. It is a space where students can study, hold group meetings, and just relax. The Suite contains a small kitchen and several information areas to find out about events, opportunities, and resources. We welcome all students to come and talk with Barrett faculty and staff, study, or simply hang out and enjoy some treats.
We look forward to welcoming you into the Barrett family at the West Valley campus.
With all best wishes,
Associate Dean Eduardo Pagán, PhD

Residential college experience
The residential community is a key component of the Barrett experience. Honors students live in the Barrett residential college for their first two years and many choose to live on campus all four years.
The Barrett West Suite, located in the heart of campus in the UCB building, is available to all honors students for studying and socializing. The space houses West Valley campus faculty and staff for easy connections, includes quiet and group study areas, provides access to free printing of academic materials, and is used for a variety of events and activities.
Benefits of living with Barrett include:
- Connections with other honors students in a variety of majors and from a wide range of backgrounds
- Easy access to programs and events that enhance your experience
- Ability to fully immerse yourself in the Barrett community
- Extra support from residential peer leaders
Housing
The West Valley campus has two residential options for undergraduate students: Casa de Oro and Casa del Valle. Both offer a suite-style experience with two students per room, four students per suite. The floors are mixed-gender floors, with same-gender rooms or gender-inclusive housing options. Barrett student leaders live in the residence halls and create programming to support Barrett students.
Dining
Verde Dining Pavilion provides dining for both residential and commuter students. Fast casual options on campus include the P.O.D Market, Starbucks, Qdoba, Chick-Fil-A, Papa John’s Pizza, Jamba Juice, and Wild Blue Sushi.
Safety resources

Student leaders
Barrett West student leaders can help you make connections, get involved, find your passions, navigate the university experience, and have fun during your Barrett journey. They plan and host a variety of events and activities that can enrich your honors experience and they are eager to share their own experiences with you.
Mentors
Barrett West Mentors help new first-year students feel at home on campus by planning engagement activities that will help them get to know the Barrett community and build connections with other honors students. They reach out to first-year students throughout the fall semester to provide information and answer questions that will help ease their transition to university life.
Residential student leaders
Community Assistants (CAs) work directly with students living in the residence halls to ensure a safe and responsible environment. They help with administrative questions and plan activities for residents. Barrett Peer Academic Leaders (PALs) plan events and activities designed to help honors students make social connections, succeed academically, and have fun during their educational journey.
