About this opportunity

Welcome! Our unit, Counseling and Counseling Psychology within the CISA College, currently has two main undergraduate programs:

  • Psychology (PSY) BS/BA
  • Counseling and Applied Psychological Science (CAP) BS

Thesis

Any CISA Barrett student who is majoring in PSY or CAP can contact the lead Faculty Honors Advisor (FHA), Dr. Laura Jimenez Arista (lejimene@asu.edu), to discuss thesis or creative project opportunities. The FHA can discuss your thesis topic with you and help you find an appropriate thesis director within our unit. The FHA can also offer information on undergraduate research opportunities and information about our internship programs.

Academic Preparation

By taking our honors courses (CAP/PSY 492 and CAP/PSY 493), Barrett honors students work on advanced projects that provide them an enhanced knowledge and experience in the fields of counseling and psychology.

Recommended Timeline

We recommend to take the 492 course in your third-to-last semester and the 493 course in your second-to-last semester. Please feel free to discuss your plans with the Faculty Honors Advisor.

Other Honors Opportunities

CISA faculty in the PSY and CAP programs can also help students with Honors Enrichment Contracts. Feel free to consult with our faculty or contact the Faculty Honors Advisor.
